Job Description
Become an imperative part of a steadily developing team at a thriving company as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. This short-term contract / temporary to hire position is offered through Robert Half. Updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, processing checks, processing expense reports, resolving A/P issues, and matching, batching, and coding invoices are just a few of the responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk. As the role progresses , more responsibilities will be assigned to the Accounts Payable Clerk. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Homewood, Illinois area and will be a short-term contract / temporary to hire position.
Major responsibilities
- Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling
- Ensure invoices, checks, and other documents are properly sorted, logged, scanned, and filed
- Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed
- Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned
- Implement full-cycle A/P
- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis
- Facilitate internal and external audits as needed
- Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners
Requirements
- Customer invoices experience
- Foundational knowledge in Dentrix Dental Software
- Switchboard phone (1-10 lines) experience preferred
- Proficiency in Medical Insurance Verification
- Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
