Job Description

Responsible for managing an IT Quality Assurance department. Responsible for conducting QA services and activities that ensure that application/system products and projects meet defined quality standards. Activities include: developing, conducting and evaluating application audits and testing processes; leading and/or conducting testing activities; and communicating with developers to correct system bugs. Incumbents in this area typically have in-depth knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g., WinRunner), quality control and quality assurance approaches. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions.

Job focus is on managing others and applying operational or strategic management skills. Management responsibilities and decisions likely include hiring, performance reviews, pay decisions and development. Achieves goals mostly through work of others. Provides leadership to managers and professional staff. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams. Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Decisions are guided by resource availability and organizational objectives

•Develops and exercises business plans, policies and procedures related to Quality Assurance

•Ensures translation of business strategy to technology plan and implements successful test strategies and makes efficient use of the NT Test CoE

•Provides advisory to both Technology and business partners offering transparency to the planning and status of all technology testing activities

•Ensures the purpose and value of testing activities is clearly communicated 5. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise

•Identifies and solves complex, operational and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department

•Guided by organization functional business plans, impacts the department results by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies

•Manages multiple related teams, sets departmental priorities and allocates resources to align with business objectives and annual plan

•A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience in Test Project/Program Management is required. Minimum 5 Years of leadership experience/leading enterprise level strategic programs. Related Industry qualification (e.g. ACCA) is required. PMP/SAFe certification is a plus.

•Excellent oral and written communication skills are required with ability to effectively communicate with senior managers and leaders

•Strong understanding of QA services, bring thought leadership/innovation on emerging QA practices

•Highly flexible and adaptable to change

•Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft) is required

•Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

•Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performance

•Persuades managers and leaders to take action and/or negotiates with external partners/vendors/clients
