The Role at a Glance
As the VP, Data Strategy Management, will be responsible for setting the overall vision and driving the implementation of a cohesive data strategy that aligns with and helps accelerate Workplace Solutions business objectives. You will build and manage relationships across the organization providing highly specialized expertise to senior leaders on best practices, as well as ensuring adherence to the data governance framework. You will also lead a team to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders, facilitate discussions to the help the business realize value, empower its leaders to make decisions, resolve issues, and provide overall support of data management and governance processes.
What you'll be doing
Provides leadership and strategic direction for data management & governance, closely partnering with and influencing senior/executive leadership, business functions, IT, and other stakeholders.
Leads the development and maintenance of the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for standardizing and effectively leveraging data to drive achievement of business objectives.
Leads the creation of a robust data asset inventory and assessment of critical gaps – including quality, accessibility, level of integration, and ownership roles & responsibilities.
Directs the development, execution, and maintenance of valid metadata definitions & business rules and a repository of data components.
Directs team to develop and socialize “usage” standards, guides, and consistent approaches for data usage, modeling, flow, gap analysis, and risk management.
Chairs and/or leads coordination of ongoing data governance forums.
Serves as a project leader, collaborating with enterprise data program governance, committees, and other stakeholders to define, manage, and own project scope.
Builds strategic relationships with leadership & key stakeholders throughout their assigned area(s) and across LFG.
Leads and directs research, evaluation, application, and training of team & other stakeholders on existing & emerging data management/governance principles, techniques, and trends
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
12+ Years experience in data management and/or data process improvement directly aligned to the specific responsibilities of this role, including 5+ years of management, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders
Proven experience building data capabilities/governance and driving actionable insights through data analytics
4 Year/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
Advocates effectively, readily command attention and respect in groups as demonstrated by people listening to and getting on board with initiatives for their assigned area(s)
Demonstrated ability to successfully hire, retain, develop and coach staff via a culture of real-time performance feedback, with ability to build both technical and leadership skills
Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
