Plans, installs, administers, and maintains storage, storage area network (SAN), and backup & recovery systems as well as managing and monitoring software for these technologies. Plans, coordinates, and executes all activities related to provisioning, monitoring, performance, availability, and capacity management across multiple platforms. Plans and configures system, application, and database backups as well as recovery methodologies for all backups, using disk and tape-based enterprise backup and recovery platforms. Proactively administers and monitors storage and backup & recovery systems. Develops repeatable processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) so that administration and monitoring duties may be turned over to Level 2 personnel. Assists management with strategic planning of storage, backup & recovery, SAN, and other storage network technologies.

Qualifications
Strong knowledge of implementation and management of enterprise-class storage technology. Technology includes Pure Storage arrays, Isilon clusters and Data Domains.
Expertise with SAN implementation and planning, especially on Cisco MDS.
Excel workbook documentation skills for SAN and storage array management.
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery software and systems, especially EMC Networker and disk-based backup solutions such as Data Domain.
Experience with network attached storage file share technology using Isilon clusters.
Disaster Recovery planning and testing experience including bare-metal or “hot site” recovery.
Experience in large-scale storage and backup & recovery environments (greater than 1 PB).
Strong system programming and shell-scripting skills
Understanding and working knowledge of storage presentation as it relates to database management concepts including Oracle and MS SQL, virtualization technologies such as VMware and basic server storage administration on Windows and UNIX platforms.
Strong knowledge of UNIX (IBM Power Systems) and Linux operating systems administration and security concepts preferred.
Solid organizational and prioritizing skills. Capable of working with limited supervision and multiple distractions. Can perform and has demonstrated performance under pressure and tight deadlines.
Able to take escalation from L2 and L3 offshore resources who are on 24 hour / 7 day a week call support.
Ability to partner with technical and non-technical users.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
Able to be a team player and is customer service driven.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, or equivalent with a strong knowledge of storage technology, storage area networks (SAN), network attached storage (NAS).
A degree is preferred but not required with a minimum of five years of extensive experience.
Experience with Pure Storage arrays preferred but EMC class storage arrays will be considered. SAN management and zoning skills with Cisco MDS director class fabric switches with workbook documentation. Large-scale and distributed data center experience (experience with businesses similar in size and scope to Dollar General, or larger).
