Job Objective:

Delivers excellence in customer service to agents, insureds, claimants and others business partners for claim inquiries. Provides claim process support to agency partners and the Claim Department, assists new claimants through intake of first notice of loss and delivers claims process education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Claims Specialist Role

Provides excellent level one customer service to agents, insureds, claimants, and others for claim reporting and inquiries. Gathers claim information from the caller relating to the details of a new claim.

Responds to level one inquiries via phone or email as permitted by Company guidelines such as the status of a claim, payment amounts and dates, adjuster names and contact information.

Reports errors in the software and tests the products as necessary to fix outstanding issues.

Acts as first point of contact with agency and insured customers via telephone, e-mail or other communication, gathering necessary information to help provide answers to questions and solve problems with first level technical support items.

Required Knowledge:

Bachelor degree in business or related field or equivalent
Basic math
Personal computer and related spreadsheet and data manipulation software

Preferred Knowledge:

1-2 years related work experience
Basic insurance terms and coverages
Knowledge of commercial automobile rating and policy coverages and endorsements
Insurance coverages and rating and insurance products
Company guidelines on acceptability and profitability for applications/accounts/policies
Principles of finance, business, statistics, and insurance
Insurance industry and marketing techniques
Company, Agency, and department practices and procedures
