Fox News is looking for a dynamic, hardworking, and innovative Line Producer to join The Big Saturday/Sunday Show. The Line Producer is a natural leader, a proven go-getter, and someone who can rise to the occasion under the stressful demands of television. The Line Producer has excellent editorial judgment, knows what makes a compelling segment, live shot, tease, and overall rundown, and has breaking news experience both in and out of the control room.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Pitch and execute creative and innovative ideas for each part of the show on a regular basis
Responsible for story placement, teases, graphics, writing, and all other editorial and production elements
Time the show in the control room and communicate clearly and effectively with on-air hosts and the director
Communicate needs effectively with the Executive Producer and Associate Producers
Oversee and rewrite copy
Be a key contributor to editorial planning
Help mentor and train new staff members
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
5+ years of newsroom experience, including 2 - 3 years of line producing and relevant control room experience
Exceptional editorial skills; ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television
Strong knowledge of news, politics, and current events
Decisive and skilled management of a control room
Excellent writing skills
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, daytime, and primetime as the show demands
Ability to work under pressure, be decisive, detail-oriented, and meet deadlines
