Job Description

As a Fee Consulting Senior Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the North America Client Group through the effective establishment, implementation and management of fee and expense policy for the investment products distributed to clients.

You will:

Serve as a subject matter expert on fees within Capital Group and with external clients and consultants.

Develop fee proposals, assessing and illustrating the investment management fee options for investment vehicles and client accounts, and consider investment management fee policy across all areas of the business.

Drive toward recommendations and supporting business cases for fee policy and related fee decisions, working in close partnership with key stakeholders and managing through governance processes.

Execute on fee policy decisions at both client and vehicle levels, support the client groups through fee discussions, and navigating non-standard fee arrangements with clients.

Conduct regular, extensive benchmarking based on multiple data sources to monitor the competitiveness of CG investment management fee and expense levels.

Serve as subject matter expert on investment management fees, educating business management, client-facing and operational teams as well as clients and prospects on fee arrangements.

Stay abreast of regulatory and industry change to support CG fee policy decisions and support CG advocacy and engagement on these topics.

Be responsible for fee related language, including fee schedules, compensation language and most favored nations language contained within contracts and regulatory documents.

Lead Projects

Assess revenue and client fee and/or expense impact, develop materials to support discussions, and engage with key stakeholders to develop strategies to navigate to a decision.

Design and implement change management plans and ensure that changes are accepted, adopted, and supported by working through key stakeholders and appropriate governance groups

Seek opportunities to refine business processes and leverage technology to gain efficiencies.

Manage people and strategic relationships

Manage complex stakeholders and complex decisions, and support direct reports in doing the same, maintaining a balanced perspective and making recommendations based on data and judgement.

Collaborate and build relationships with key internal stakeholders and external clients, to facilitate the development of business cases and fee policy decisions that best align CG with client investment outcomes.

Drive engagement, communicating effective and providing a highly credible leadership position on CG fee policy, both internally and externally.

Work closely with the client-facing, product, finance, business management and legal teams and other internal and external partners.

Develop talent, build effective collaboration and foster a diverse and inclusive team environment.

You possess strong business and industry acumen, as well as – ideally – a direct knowledge of investment management fees and pricing, including knowledge of vehicle structures, third party costs, competitive landscape, reporting and the regulatory environment.

You are strategic and consultative, able to take into account multi-layer considerations both internal and external, in order to provide thoughtful and appropriate recommendations.

You are curious and highly analytical, skilled in fee calculations and able to illustrate investment management fee structures and options to prospective and existing clients.

You demonstrate ability to analyze large amounts of complex data and supplemental information to consolidate cross-system information, establish trends, create summary materials, share findings, and present conclusions / recommendations to key stakeholders.

You have a rigorous approach and meticulous attention to deliverables’ detail.

You are a strategic and proactive partner, able to build relationships and credibility with client-facing teams and clients.

You are collaborative and influential, able to communicate effectively across a broad range of stakeholders, including internal Capital Group associates and leaders, and external clients.

You are a present, hands-on leader and have a track record of coaching, mentoring, and developing colleagues and direct reports.

You have 7 to 12 years of demonstrated analytical and leadership work experience, ideally within the financial services industry, a consulting firm or large accounting firm.
