Warehouse Packaging Associate, 1st Shift, Vermont Creamery

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Sourcing Supervisor, the Warehouse Packaging Room Associate assists with material handling and allocation to production at the production plant, material inventory control, liaises between Warehouse and Production for work order requirements, and finished good inventory accuracy.

Location: Websterville, VT

Hours: 1st Shift; 7am-3:30pm, some weekend and overtime requirements

Wage: $18.74

Required Qualifications & Experiences

18 years or older.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and possess basic mathematical skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Experiences

1+ years of continuous prior experience in any industry.
Self-Reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be flexible with work schedule.
Must be attentive to detail and have good organizational skills.
Must be effective at working independently and in small groups.
Must be able to perform basic math addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must be able to effectively communicate and actively listen.
Must be able to produce quality work at the swift pace of production.

Must have a willing attitude to learn and better the Creamery and yourself.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Receives packaging and ingredients from warehouse and allocates quantities accurately to production lines.
Stores product in the proper location in production packaging locations.
Ensures freezer cheese is thawing in a timely manner for production use.
Keeps packaging area and transfer cooler organized and clean.
Maintains accurate counts of materials and finished product at plant before, during, and after work order completion.
Accurately allocates materials to work orders.
Wraps pallets, make sure tags are accurate.
Assists with product inventory and coding discards out of code items at production plant.
Assists with warehouse equipment and manages supplies inventory located at production plant.
Provides liaison between Warehouse and Production teams to ensure materials for production work orders are on-hand as needed.
Comply with all PPE and Safety Requirements.
Helps to train warehouse support, as needed.
Helps in other departments, as needed.
Ensures all procedures, GMPs, Safety, Quality, and Sanitation plans are followed.
Identifies and reports all potentially non-conforming product and equipment to Creamery Production Supervisor and the Quality Assurance Department.
Other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements

Frequent movement including walking, standing for a 8-10 workday, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting a minimum of 25lbs or over 150lbs with assistance of equipment, climbing and other active movements.
Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present.
Shift schedules that include days, nights, and weekends, some holidays and periodic overtime.
