Job Description

The Pipeline Technician will be responsible for performing duties related to general pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance of an oil and gas pipeline system.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Works independently to repair and maintain all pipelines as needed and perform work incidental to the daily operations and maintenance of all pipelines under the direction of the Pipeline Operations Engineer.
Calibrates flow meters.
Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair pipeline equipment, which may include valves, operators, and filtration systems.
Drives product through the pipeline.
Responsible for checking connection points.
Verify accuracy of flow meters.
Coordinate with third party and company personnel for excavations, crossings, and digs of company pipelines.
Responsible for all duties associated to help maintain line integrity and safe operation.
Perform valve inspections and associated documentation to ensure proper operation.
Assist in new pipeline projects.
Provide status updates on current projects.
Ensure company safety standards are always reached.
Must attend all safety meetings and training.
Responsible to be to work on time and ready to work.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required. 
Flexible work schedule may be required to work nights and weekends.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledgeable and experienced in oil and gas construction.
Strong leadership skills managing people and projects.
Experience in directing and overseeing the work of other employees. 
Proficient spoken and written English.
Proficient in the use of computers, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Punctual, trustworthy, and reliable.
Courteous manners with the public and customers.
Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
Very strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
Team player.
Must work well under pressure.
Must have the ability to make quick, wise, and effective decisions.
Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:

High school diploma / GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years pipeline operation and installation experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Technical experience in pipeline automation is preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance required.

Travel:

Up to 25% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environment may vary significantly.

The Refined Products and Renewables segment markets gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and biodiesel products; and purchase and delivers refined petroleum and renewable products. This segment also purchases and markets unfinished gasoline blending components for subsequent blending into finished gasoline for third parties. NGL Energy Holdings LLC serves as the general partner of the company. The company was founded in 1940 and is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
