Primary purpose of the position:
Supports the development, deployment, and management of Global standards specific related to our chemical processes
Essential Responsible Areas:
Schedules and leads group discussions to align global engineering teams related to process standardization, standard work, new equipment and process evaluation and deployment, and cost saving opportunities.
Uses lean and 6 sigma techniques to identify and drive cost savings and improvements in business processes.
Investigates, originates, and implements improvements for the container manufacturing process for the purpose of increased production, reduced product cost, and improved quality.
Generates process standards and supports management of global chemical equipment standards while ensuring alignment with other business functions and within regional engineering groups.
Point of contact between Ball and our OEM’s; new equipment offerings, process development, documentation for installation and equipment manuals.
Maintains an awareness of technical progress in materials, support areas, and production equipment. Initiates technical meetings to review problems and seek improvements to document, align and deploy globally.
Liaison and technical support to other disciplines: manufacturing, project, process, and product engineering, sales & marketing, quality, EH&S, and sourcing.
Procures and evaluates MSDS sheets and material technical data sheets for new chemicals.
Maintains awareness and complies with all EHS requirements; technical lead regarding the use of chemicals globally.
Implements programs to introduce and qualify new materials, products, processes, and/or equipment in plants and with our customers.
Provides liaison and technical support to other disciplines; manufacturing, project, container, and closure.
Provides technical support and pertinent information to plants; licensees, joint ventures, customers, and engineering in application of materials, chemical process, and mechanical technology. Participates in installation, troubleshooting, failure investigations, and corrective action of material, process, and mechanical problems.
Maintains awareness and complies with all environmental management requirements.
Participates in project implementation, installation, check-out, tune-up and start-up of new equipment.
What we are looking for:
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
2 years related industry experience preferred
Proficient in the following systems or programs; BPLM, Infinity, JDE, SAP, SAP Maintenance, QAS, SFOL, Viscan
Highly skilled in the use of a computer and the standard suite of Office tools.
Must be prepared to work towards and then maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
Handles sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
Ability to work independently within parameters set by management. Assignments may be self-initiated. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Contributes to group discussions.
Practices attentive and active listening; has the patience to hear people out; can accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Compensation & Benefits:
Hiring Salary Range: $ 70,800-106,080 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
