Summary of Duties:
Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and suggest improvements for the eCommerce database, across the global organization. Install, monitor, and maintain servers in accordance with system parameters and user requirements. Create/maintain shell scripts (Cron) for database system testing, process automation, and backup recovery. Perform user administration, including: writing user documentation and providing user training. Implement, configure, and monitor database system security. Configure eCommerce database to meet the future state vision for the eCommerce platform, using advanced knowledge of Oracle and SQL manipulation, Agile and SCRUM methodologies, as well as integrations with HCL Commerce, IMB OMS, and EDI. Complete daily backups of database systems. Create and monitor completion of Oracle support Service Requests (SR). Perform database changes as submitted by the Digital Technology Team or Client Services Support. Perform in-depth analysis for database and/or applications patches, including pre- and post-requisite patches and related scripts. Patch impacted systems when periodic patches are released or when warranted. Apply patches to database tier, applications tier, and other Oracle-related systems. Maintain log of applied patches to ensure patching is done in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policy and procedure. Serve as a knowledge resource for Linux and Citrix systems to enhance network security and to provide optimal database scalability. Teleworking is permissible.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or closely related technical field of study and three (3) years of experience as a Software Test Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
Special Skills: Also requires at least three (3) years of experience in the following:
Agile/SCRUM software development environment;
IBM Order Management Systems;
Writing quality assurance automation scripts using C# and Ruby; and
HCL WebSphere Commerce Platform.
