Job Description

General Summary:

Qualcomm's XR Architecture Team is seeking a systems architect who will work on driving the next generation technologies and architectures, enabling the future of Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality applications. The successful candidate may be responsible for:

Identifying, understanding, and documenting use cases and implementations of VR and related technologies
Leading technology, hardware, and software experts to translate use case requirements into implementation specifications
Driving system level on-target profiling to inform forward architecture definition
System level use case modeling to validate power and performance KPIs and optimize architecture definition
Defining and executing HW-SW partitioning analyses
Defining and executing HW-SW feature analysis to optimize for power and performance
Collaborating with technology experts to drive strategic direction in cross-functional VR related areas

For this multi-disciplinary role an ideal candidate has proven expertise in AR/VR, display technologies, GPUs, computer vision, machine learning, perception, camera technology, hardware design, SoC architecture, HW/SW partitioning, and/or system modeling (power, performance, thermal).

Preferred Qualifications

??- Master's degree and/or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

- 10+ years experience in HW architecture/design with emphasis on areas listed above

- Proven experience in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance analysis and/or SW-HW trade-offs
- Extensive knowledge of graphics pipeline, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methods and/or camera pipelines
- Experience with system level modeling (performance and/or power)
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication skills
- C/C++ and/or Python

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
