Job Description

As a data engineer intermediate or senior on the Claims IT Data Engineering team, you’ll contribute to highly available and scalable solutions that are built on cutting-edge cloud architecture. You'll partner with Data Science and IT teams to support the expansion of an application. You’ll also build out the necessary data pipelines to support Data Science models and enable efficient access to multiple data sources. You’ll support packaging and deploying new models or updated models to production, and create the necessary infrastructure needed for model training.  You’ll also work with the Data Scientist and Application team to ensure the design is fit for requirements. Our teams are also focused on building a fun and collaborative atmosphere. Participation in the on-call support rotation required and supporting the Data Science team members.

Must-have skills 

Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study and minimum of two years of work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications.
In lieu of degree, minimum of four years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software programs or applications may be accepted.

Preferred skills 

Experience working with Python and AWS (S3, EC2), Unix/Shell scripting 
Experience with a variety of relational and non-relational databases and data sources
Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration frameworks and related tools a plus (e.g. Snowflake and/or Tecton)
Experience with a parallel computing tool (e.g. Ray, Prefect or multiprocessing package)
Knowledge of at least one good tool for effective and performant tabular data manipulation (e.g. Pandas, Dask, Spark, or SQL)

Compensation 

$84,800 - $127,000/year 
Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
