Basic Job Functions:

Lead and supervise the Design Engineer and Shop Order Team to Take Care of Our Customers by:

Providing mentoring, coaching and accountability through performance appraisals to the team.
Assuring consistent application of current design policies, procedures, and practices.
Monitoring and reporting weekly payroll information, tracking, and coordinating vacation.
Overseeing and managing individual work schedules, and the production schedule.
Providing “World Class” service, meeting customer needs quickly and effectively. 

Partner with the Division Leadership team to drive continuous improvement
Support Business Development through customer and specifier interactions promoting Nucor’s value proposition and cultivating deeper partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

Have a minimum of a B.S. Degree in Engineering
Registered PE or Passed PE Exam and Completing PE Experience Requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior Leadership Experience
Civil Engineering degree with emphasis in structures
Joist and Deck, Metal Buildings or Structural Steel Design and/or Detailing Experience
Willing to relocate for future advancement opportunities within Nucor

This segment sells its products to steel service centers, fabricators, and manufacturers in automotive, energy, agricultural, heavy equipment, and transportation sectors. The Steel Products segment offers hollow structural section steel tubing products, electrical conduits, steel joists and joist girders, steel decks, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel products, cold finished steel products, steel fasteners, metal building systems, steel grating and expanded metal products, and wire and wire mesh products to general contractors, fabricators, distributors, and manufacturers.

This segment also engages in the piling distribution business. The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.

The company offers its products through its in-house sales forces; and internal distribution and trading companies. The company was founded in 1940 and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
