The Role at a Glance
As a Senior Consultant – Agile Product Owner in the Strategic Planning Office, you will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects supporting Group Protection. The Agile Product Owner will be a key resource working with other agile teams and business stakeholders responsible for maximizing business value of the solutions developed by the team. The Product Owner in this role will be aligned to the agile delivery team supporting Group Protection’s billing and policy administration systems.
What you'll be doing
Prioritize the product backlog and set quality standards for delivery while ensuring that more complex information technology solutions need the needs, goals and objectives of the business.
Ensure stakeholder alignment at each stage of the developmental lifecycle.
Provide subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
Provide direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capabilities of the application.
Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality.
Provide a more complex understanding the business and product usage to contribute to the program vision and roadmap development.
What we're looking for
Must-haves:
4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
5 – 7+ Years’ experience in product ownership or experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities of this position.
Nice-to-haves:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to communicate knowledgeably and credibly with internal/external senior management.
Ability to analyze complex information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
