The AWS Existing Data Center Capacity Optimization Team is searching for a passionate, talented, and experienced Senior Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to be the global process owner for our migration program. We are looking for a relentless self-starter that will boldly do what’s best for the business to serve our customers; someone with a true pioneering spirit, willing to “get their hands dirty” in a start-up environment while being able to prioritize resources and not lose sight of long-term goals.

You will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery. This is a high-impact role, offering an opportunity to drive and influence business-critical decisions which will have a direct impact on the long-term success of AWS.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and be capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts. They will be able to apply a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. Experience with Tableau, Kanban, Playbook, SQL and systems integration a plus. • Set standards and influence other teams across AWS to sustainably deliver server migration processes with security in mind, integrate technology partners, and manage risk.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, evaluate and make tradeoffs
• Investigate and provides recommendations for potential automation.
• Communicate technical program status in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
• Remain flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and have Amazon’s success firmly in your focus.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of technology or infrastructure program or project management experience
• Demonstrated expertise in process improvement, including process mapping, issue identification, root cause analysis and delivering sustainable solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or related field
• Domain experience in Cloud expansion, Server/Network deployments or migration
• Deployed large-scale technologies, with demonstrated experience resolving challenging business tradeoffs
• Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
• Lean/Six Sigma experience
• Experience in writing SQL queries
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
