Responsibilities:
The Health Care Sr Banker is responsible for business development and relationship management activities with HC clients, with emphasis on originating business and generating cross selling opportunities based on BBVA’s product capabilities in the US and internationally. Works with the Portfolio and Risk Management Group, and product partners from Global Markets, Investment Banking & Finance and Global Transactional Banking to facilitate overall customer relationship management and maximize cross selling.
Major/Essential Job Duties:
Lead the development, coverage and relationship management of Health Care clients
Develop marketing plans for the Petitioner's products and services to be offered.
Responsible for delivering targeted client solutions in support of existing client needs while developing a marketing strategy to convert prospects to clients in order to broaden existing portfolio penetration and grow the client base
Work with Product Partners to ensure proper client coverage and support and execution of transactions while also identifying priorities in order to grow the client base
Identify opportunities for new products or enhancements to meet client/industry-specific needs
Review, analyze and evaluate actual and potential global return on client transactions.
Drive client revenue and profitability while maximizing efficiency. Calculate optimal amount of global credit support for clients.
Operate within a strong risk and control framework; proactively consider broader risks to firm, clients/customers, and shareholders and partner across LOBs/functions in order to address respective matters
Partner with Credit Risk to ensure the credit quality of the client portfolio remains high while meeting the needs of clients and the demands of the marketplace
Scope of Duties:
The HC banker will develop and grow the HC client portfolio across the different industry subsectors, targeting companies with annual sales of $3.0+ billion, solid credit profile and presence across BBVA’s global footprint.
Management Responsibilities:
The position requires mentoring and training BBVA's analyst and associates involved with the health care clients.
Qualifications:
10+ years of proven client coverage success in managing relationships, executing transactions and converting prospects to clients
Existing Health Care client portfolio
Strong knowledge of Corporate & Investment Banking products and services with a demonstrated record of success in delivering value added client solutions
Proven experience cross-selling DCM, Cash Management Services, Trade Finance, Risk Ranagement (interest rate and foreign exchange) and multi-product solutions in the US and globally.
Demonstrated pro-active ownership and expertise in managing credit risk
Takes ownership in managing the client - from origination to product delivery to operations to service
Ability to partner across lines of businesses and leverage internal resources
Excellent client relationship skills; successful at delivering the entire firm to the client
Spanish and Series 7 certification preferred.
