Job Description

The Senior Test Method Engineer will be focused on test method development, testing, validation and design of test fixtures in the field of Coronary & Renal Denervation. You will perform statistical analysis of data regarding test method or product performance with respect to quality system requirements. You will have opportunities to innovate, troubleshoot, test and design test methods/fixtures. 

Coronary & Renal Denervation
Coronary & Renal Denervation therapies are a vital component of the Medtronic interventional cardiology portfolio. In addition to our core products that treat blocked coronary arteries, we are seeking to solve unmet needs in the rapidly growing field of complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We also are leading the way with the transformational renal denervation therapy, which has the potential to be a powerful tool in battling the global hypertension epidemic.

Day in the Life - Responsibilities

Collaborates with team members on establishing physical characteristics and performance requirements for products with related industry standards in mind.
Leads the design, development, documentation, and implementation of test methods, equipment, fixtures, and test scripts for evaluating product conformance with its requirements.
Qualifies test equipment and fixtures and validates test scripts and test methods according to quality system requirements.
Performs statistical analysis of data regarding test method or product performance with respect to product and/or quality system requirements.
Troubleshoots and solves problems associated with test methods failing to meet validation acceptance criteria or product testing that produces unexpected results.
Assesses complex technical issues quickly and is able to develop effective solutions.
Communicates clearly regarding the status of assignments.  Escalates issues in a timely manner that could impact the larger project.
Mentors or directs the work of other lower-level professionals.  
Sets objectives for own job and area of responsibility to meet the objectives of projects and assignments. 
Adjusts or recommends enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area

Must Have: Minimum Requirements (Must be evident on your resume)

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 4+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality OR Advanced degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 2+ years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality

Nice to Have: Preferred

Statistical knowledge
Test Method Experience strong preferred
Experience performing or overseeing testing such as dimensional characterization, physical (mechanical/electrical) performance testing, simulated use testing, etc.
Experience validating test methods and test scripts
Experience developing test scripts / simple software applications (e.g., coding in Python)
Experience with Minitab
Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems and related engineering principles.
Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written
Cross-functional project team experience.
Proven ability in influencing cross functional peer colleagues
Experienced in working with large, multi-site, matrix organizations.
Product design experience related to cardiovascular products.
Experience with Design, Reliability, and Manufacturability (DRM) methodology or an equivalent
Proven track record of developing engineering solutions for complex problems
Strong systems engineering skills
Experience and working knowledge of FDA regulations/ISO standards for medical devices
Track record of developing and implementing broad improvement initiatives
