Senior Lab Technician
The Senior Lab Technician, as a member of the production lab group will learn all areas that fall under the responsibilities of the group.
Tests included are a such:
Protein by combustion
Nitrogen analysis by flow-injection
Extractions of soil/feed/manures for Nitrogen
Minerals analysis by microwave digestion and ICAP
Colorimetric procedures for sugars and starches
Gravimetric procedures for ADF, NDF, Fat, Fibers, Moistures
Chlorides by titration
Toxins by Elisa method
The Senior Lab Technician will be able to assess workloads for the day and communicate with the team on sample priorities. Data is entered into the LIMS system by the technician. Attention to detail is a must.
A strong understanding of following written procedures and how that affects quality results is a must. Troubleshooting equipment is preferred, but on job training is provided.
Involvement in the soil season is part of our production teams responsibilities. Covering breaks during our peak season or assisting as needed is typical.
Assistance to the Production Supervisor with chemical waste disposal procedures as well as some safety metrics.
Education Requirements
4 Year Bachelors degree
Preferred Experience
Lab experience
Use of Pipettes
Dilutions
Operation of basic laboratory equipment
Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:
Advanced computer skills (M/S office)
