Contracts Analyst Senior - Central Capital Projects

Job Description

Working in a self-managed team concept, the Contracts Analyst Senior will be a part of ENGIE’s Central Capital Projects Team based at the University of Iowa campus or at ENGIE North America’s Headquarters in Houston and will report to the Director of Capital Projects. This program is a “start-up” business, and this role is fitting for a driven, creative and ambitious individual that is excited to embrace the team culture of a successful start-up organization.

This candidate is responsible for negotiation, development, and administration of the capital project contracts related to capital improvement projects for campus energy systems. This role will also support the contract activities for business development related to new partnerships with universities or commercial and industrial entities. The Contracts Analyst Senior will also liaise with the other members of the Contracts Team in Houston and Ohio State University.

What you’ll do:

Leads the contracting process of all capital improvement projects in Iowa and specific business development projects
Develops the Request for Proposal (RFP) packages relying on documentation from the project team members to provide a complete package meeting the project schedule and incorporating stakeholder requirements
Drives the contract bidding process for contracts as bidder single point of contact using coordination meetings, site visits and issuing RFP addenda as required
Spearheads the negotiations with the selected bidder using a documented process and good judgment to resolve scope and terms and conditions differences
Prepares final contract, award letter and Notice to Proceed as appropriate 
Develops a relationship with qualified equipment vendors, suppliers, construction contractors, and design/engineering firms
Reviews Change Order Requests and drives the negotiations with the supplier/contractor, the project team and relying on the contract terms
Negotiates schedule and cost impacts in an effort to preserve the contracting plan
Prepares project close-out documentation using provisional acceptance and final acceptance contract documentation requirements
Provides support to project managers on contractual claims and disputes.
Develops and maintains good relationships with the ENGIE subsidiaries and our partners and encourages knowledge sharing.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with the University staff.
Carries out other duties as assigned

What you bring:

Bachelor of Science in engineering or  Bachelor of Business Administration or a relevant degree
5+ years of experience in a related field
For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role.

Experience in construction projects, working at sites, managing subcontractors, contracts administration and change management. 
Strong understanding of project execution and project related tax, finance, insurance, and legal issues.
