We have an opening for an Occupational Health Advisor that will provide guidance on a range of specialized health and medical services related to work-related injuries, medical evaluations, work related exposures, disability management, and population-based prevention and health improvement. This position will function as a part of an integrated health and medical team.
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will be responsible for:
Providing physician-level medical guidance, oversee work of other health department professionals, and serve as a Medical Review Officer (MRO).
Serving as health and medical subject matter expert and decision maker for the business.
Supporting global health and medical team with occupational health escalations including drug and alcohol, ADA, medical surveillance, fitness for duty, pandemic response, public health concerns and other global health needs.
Providing knowledge of health risks and preferred resources for delivery of medical emergency response in global operating regions.
Serving as in house expert regarding pre-placement medical evaluations and fitness for duty evaluations involving assessments of work ability, need for workplace accommodations and restrictions, and determination of the need for medical follow up.
Serving as subject matter expert when collaborating with other department work teams.
Supporting with the periodic review, global health and medical policies and procedures.
Supporting the company’s culture of health and wellness initiatives as needed.
Performing other related duties and handling special projects, as assigned.

To be successful in this role you will:
Be a Certified Medical Review Officer
Have minimum 5+ years’ experience in either clinical practice or corporate occupational health advisory role
Have demonstrated ability to perform independently, reliably, and competently in the exercise of work-related injuries, pre-placement, periodic and surveillance examinations, as well as prevention and health promotion interventions.
Have extensive experience working independently and in a team environment with a broad cross-section of people and organizations, managing complex projects, and meeting schedules.
Have demonstrated effective organizational skills with attention to detail necessary to handle multiple complex tasks in a demanding environment with conflicting priorities, tight and changing deadlines, and frequent interruptions while providing high-level customer service with good follow-through.
Have advanced analytical, decision-making skills and problem-solving skills to evaluate, interpret and recommend actions/solutions to highly unusual, complex and/or sensitive medical issues.
Have expert communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills necessary to effectively write, present, explain and communicate highly unusual, complex and/or sensitive medical information to all levels of personnel.
