Job Description

The purpose of this position is to supervise individuals and or teams of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) professionals to create and sustain a productive work culture and safe work environment in order to avoid and minimize HSE related problems. These problems include but are not limited to prevention of human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices. This is done through health, safety and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to the protection of the environment as well as the productivity of the Company’s employees.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee and act as line management's technical resource for determining Operations and Maintenance risk analysis for Operational Risk Management Program.
• Review contract safety specifications and incorporate requirements into the Accident Prevention Plan. (APP)
• Assisting in the development of project safety plans, budgets, safety supplies, training materials and other associated costs.
• Reviewing applicable regulatory requirements/and addressing deficiencies noted in the current program.
• Developing site ESH training program and demonstrating knowledge base of materials.
• Conduct inspections and audits, and participating in field inspections and meetings to facilitate communication of inspection results and corrective actions.
• Participating in safety briefings with personnel on project to confirm understanding of Safety and Health {S&H) requirements (This can include morning, evening, and weekend work shifts).
• Leading incident investigations when required.
• Stopping work in Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) situations and reviewing Recovery Plans that are to be implemented before work can be resumed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Other Job Requirements

• Must have significant experience in General industry.
• Proficient use of Microsoft products.
• Attention to detail in completing work tasks.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so that others will understand.
• Requires ability to walk/stand for extended periods and traverse by foot over smooth and rough terrain for review of work sites throughout the location, including outside and inside locations (dust, heat, cold, noise and other exposures are possible).
• Proficient use of Microsoft products

• This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Safety, or similar degree, is required with 8+ years of experience or a Master of Science degree with 6+ years of experience. A candidate may be considered with a master electrician's license coupled with experience and safety certifications (STS, CHST etc.).
