What you will do:
You will be responsible for end-to-end development and testing of software products in an agile lifecycle. Partnering with key technical and business stakeholders across teams, the Engineer will help define the product vision, estimate and design a solution, provide guidance to junior engineers, do capacity planning, ensure the quality of the final product through manual and automated tests, and support the new software as it is moved to production
Making significant contributions in delivering the engineering build-out of SQL, OLAP database systems and visualization engines.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, lead architecture evaluations, build scalable solutions using open-source analytical engines and visualization tools (Presto, Druid, SuperSet) and drive complex technology programs in cutting edge domains.
Elastically scale the database systems in the public cloud
Enhance the performance of database systems in terms on response time, throughput, CPU utilization etc.
Be actively engaged and contribute back to open source community on the new features
Mentor and guide engineers in the team.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Three to five years of relevant experience
Skills should include
10+ years hands on working experience developing highly maintainable, extensible and testable distributed systems
5+ years of experience on designing low latency applications designed for scalability and reliability with high throughput.
5+ years of experience with open source technologies like Java, Spring boot, Kafka, etc and containerization.
Proven ability to implement user interfaces against REST APIs, micro services
5+ years of experience using Cassandra (or a similar noSQL databases)
Comfortable working with and writing asynchronous operations
Fit into a team that has embraced continuous delivery
Experience using modern and functional programming styles
Excellent code hygiene and habits
Familiarity with source control management best practices
