Job Description

The C.N.A. assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position aids in the delivery of excellent care to patients through clerical and receptionist roles as assigned by the Registered Nurse.

Education:

Required: Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

Able to read, speak, and write in English

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians and visitors

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Possess knowledge of accepted basic nursing aid standards and practice

Experience:

Preferred: A minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital environment, skilled care or intermediate care facility experience

Certification:

Required: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Required: Current certification as a nurse's aide for the State of New Mexico
