Summary:
This position supports the Energy Transfer’s Product Quality Assurance Program through monitoring and evaluating the quality of refined products which are received into, transferred through, and shipped out of the refined products distribution system in the Philadelphia area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate test data to ensure products meet company and industry quality specifications
Obtain product line and tank samples, performing laboratory testing on samples, evaluating test results to verify product quality.
Execute Pipeline Change of Products (COPs) for products recieved from inbound pipelines manually or using an HMI.
Conduct investigations into any product quality events or abnormalities.
Communicate details of investigations, including recommendations for the disposition of off-spec product and ways to prevent a recurrence to the Quality Assurance management.
Possess the ability to establish priorities, multitask and reshuffle workload based upon ever changing pipeline schedules.
Perform duties independently with broad oversight from manager.
Conduct other QA related duties to support the operation as assigned.
Special Considerations:
Must be familiar with the safety issues related to sampling of tanks, pipelines, conducting laboratory analysis and general handling of refined products.
Position is located in the Philadelphia area, but at times may need to provide support in Sinking Springs, PA.
Job requires ability to work a flexible schedule including 12 hour rotating shifts, 365 days per year.
Must carry a cell phone during off-hours.

HS Diploma. Associate degree, preferably in technical discipline preferred
6+ years industry related experience with the handling and/or testing of petroleum products or petrochemicals.
Fundamental working knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and product transportation operations, pipeline locations and product specifications.
Experience with MS Excel and Word and possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Ability to effectively work with all levels within the organization.
Ability to act independently, with minimal supervision.

Rotating shift work with extra shifts occasionally required.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Position is based in industrial/manufacturing settings which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
May be asked to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
