Job description:

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investment Solutions group partners across the organization to design and deliver scalable financial planning solutions aimed at wealth management and retail brokerage clients and prospects.  The Co-Head of Financial Planning Goals Planning System will oversee a team of product management professionals who are responsible for delivering the Financial Planning experience to Wealth Management financial advisors via Morgan Stanley Goals Planning System (GPS). 

The Co-Head of Financial Planning Goals Planning System will oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of Goal Planning Platform. In doing so, this role will partner very closely with subject matter experts across Wealth Management Platforms supporting the Wealth Management Clients.

In addition to Planning product development, the Co-Head of Financial Planning Goals Planning System will also be responsible for developing a digital offering that drive planning engagement in the Self-Directed channel in partnership with Digital platform and Sales leadership.

Job Responsibilities

Own and maintain existing financial planning capabilities across the Morgan Stanley Goals Planning System with ownership over current and ongoing product management goals and KPIs
Define the short- and long-term strategic roadmap and integration plan for advisor-facing planning capabilities
Conduct research into Retail, Stock Plan and Wealth client segments to identify unmet planning needs and develop new planning value propositions, capabilities, and experiences
Make appropriate prioritization decisions based on feedback and within budget constraints
Develop Fleet-level backlog of priorities, in-line with business strategy and KPIs
Be responsible for providing teams with a framework to develop Epics, user stories and coaching to define the business-driven acceptance criteria and test cases
Consult with and advise product managers when defining release content and timeline, applying product development principles, innovative thinking, and a focus around user experience
Participate in and facilitate relevant Agile ceremonies and rituals: Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-up, Iteration / Release Planning, Showcases / Sprint Review, Retrospective

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications/Skills desired

10+ years of Financial Planning experience within the financial services industry. 
Demonstrated success in building, launching, and maintaining new and complex software applications
Demonstrated ability to partner and drive results within a large, matrixed organization.
Able to distill complex concepts and content into straightforward, digestible information that teams can understand and action.
Proven ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels of management.
Strong team player who is results oriented, self-motivated, and able to act on own initiative; able to lead and influence without direct authority
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
CFP or similar credential preferred
