The Customer Care and Aftersales organization is pleased to announce the creation of a new team focused on reimagining and modernizing our supply chain and warehousing fulfillment strategy to support evolving business requirements as well as future e-fulfillment growth.

The focus of the effort will be on performing competitive analysis to identify and implement global lean supply chain and fulfillment solutions to solve current gaps in the warehousing efficiency and space and executing actions to enable best in class end-to-end supply chain capabilities.

Reimaging fulfillment is a cultural shift within GM-CCA that empowers and inspires the team to take action and embrace the demeanor that, "Everything can be made better."

You will help support and implement strategy development in turning fulfillment into a competitive differentiator for GM and advancing the work on future fulfillment model.

Description

Lead installation of new technologies in order to streamline part processing and customer fulfillment, Integration of equipment, installation into the plant, and manage to steady state. Requirements would include effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for a flawless execution. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering facility as well as assembly plant with an elevated level of independent judgment. 

Responsibilities:

Leading all new technology installations and current activities in a specific area.

Define all areas of change, which include product and manufacturing requirements (tooling, workstation setup, facility and etc.)

Lead responsibility within the site which includes ensuring all tooling, conveyor, material and automation requirements are met.

Efficient material flow understandings for future material movement

Develop interfaces, and work with cross functional teams to develop / define common tooling and process across whole department and other groups

Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources

Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts.

FOR GM INTERNAL CANDIDATES:  This role is posted at both the 7 and 6 level. The determination by HR and the Hiring Manager as to whether an offer will be lateral or promotional will be based on a candidate´s relevant experience and whether the role will amount to a significant increase in level of responsibility.

Additional Description

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferred)

Knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines

Knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Thorough understanding of tooling installation and applicable industry standards.

Thorough understanding of warehousing operations

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Equipment

Demonstrate levels of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.

Ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with highest level of autonomy and accountability for results

Shows initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others

Project management skills and ability to teach others

Must be willing to travel 40-50% Domestically/ Internationally
