We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Healthcare Chart Management Coordinator in a Chattanooga, TN facility.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Healthcare Chart Management Coordinator ensures the proper preparation and accountability of the Hospitalists Management charts for the hospital physician billing. This position will be considered hybrid with a mix of at home and in office work. The training for this position will be 2-3 weeks long and you will be required to start at 4 AM each day for training.  This position will require some weekends and holidays and early mornings will be required every 3 weeks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Obtains a copy of current hospitalist log daily.
Identifies and marks log /track sheets of hospital admittance, outpatient services, direct admits. Submits billing information, counts records to ensure reconciliation with the hospitalist log, and submit trauma patient billing. 
Answer phone calls and handle inquiries.
Collects previous day’s patient charts, sorting in date and time order.
Reconciles missing or suspended list with required lag time.
Collects critical care charges of procedures, such as procedures performed in ICU/hospital and obtains/pulls charts, demographic, and insurance information.
Maintains copy of billing information.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic medical terminology knowledge desirable.
Computer experience to include Excel, E-Mail applications, Microsoft Word, and internet browser applications.
Medical Records experience is required.
Must demonstrate the capacity to meet new and stressful situation and demands in a diplomatic manner.
Interpersonal skills are critical and professional and confidential interactions essential because of the importance of the position as the representative of Hospitalist group to the public, the hospital administration and the medical staff.
Must have self-direction abilities and be detail and deadline oriented.
Effective administrative and organizational skills

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
Experience in reviewing medical records is preferred.
