HOW YOU'LL HELP US KEEP CLIMBING (OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
The successful candidate works with of a group of engineers and highly skilled technicians supporting all of Delta’s Technical Operations Division in the design and production of additively manufactured tools and parts. This position works very closely with various engineering departments, Engine Maintenance, Component Maintenance, Base and Line Maintenance, MRO sales, and more within TechOps. The position also works closely with external vendors and suppliers.
The individual will undertake tasks including but not limited to:
• Designing and supporting manufacture of new tooling and parts to support various TechOps departments.
• Supporting shop originated requests for specialized manufacture.
• Developing standards and processes for additive manufacturing within TechOps.
• Maintaining compliance with applicable FAA, DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations, foreign regulatory requirements and Delta’s Technical Operations Policy and Procedures (TOPP).
• Provide status for projects/issues through various briefings and documentation.
• Support engineering groups as they develop new repairs, prototypes, and products involving additive manufacturing.
• Work closely with the TechOps departments to ensure proper quality control systems are being implemented and followed for additively manufactured products.
• Collaboration and communication with manufacturers and regulatory entities.
• Irregular shift hours may be required, on rare occasion, due to critical requirements. This may include weekend work depending on criticality of the issue.
• Occasional travel may be required to support designs across the Delta system.
In addition to the routine tasks listed above supporting the operation, the individual is also expected show a high level of skill in the following areas:
• Building relationships with internal customers and partners and external vendor and industry organizations.
• Working closely with various maintenance and engineering personnel to support their goals/metrics.
• Accurately anticipates the not so obvious impact of various solutions to technical problems. Provides feasible alternatives to solve complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
• Must have a strong customer service orientation and relationship management skills, strong project management skills; written and verbal communication skills; multi-tasking abilities; proven results-orientation; and strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and various CAD software, or similar, desired.
• Must be performing satisfactorily in their current role.
•A self-motivated, engaging and positive disposition is desired.
• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)
• An engineering degree with a full understanding of additive manufacturing and its limitations.
• A background in manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
• Previous airline, military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft.
• Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR 121 operations regulations and 14 CFR 145 repair station regulations.
