Job Description

The Outreach & Education Lead is responsible for serving as a lead for the associates engaged in member outreach and enhancing relationships with Anthem members.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Serves as the primary point-of-contact for the associates conducting onboarding calls with new members during their shifts.
Provides coaching to associates and assists with real-time issue resolution to help provide members with an exceptional customer experience.
Coordinates and leads teams with effective communication, organization, and future-focused planning, especially in a remote environment.
Displays strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a high level of emotional intelligence.
Communicates complex information in an understandable way.
Displays strong issue resolution skills and ability to communicate sensitive information to a variety of stakeholders.
Fosters a team environment that promotes efficiency, professional growth, and well-being, especially in a remote environment.
Coordinates outreach activities by developing plans, identifying target audiences, and assessing effectiveness of programming.
Identifies and resolves issues that may impact relationships with members.
Develops and implements programming designed to ensure effective working relationships with members.
Resolves highly complex and/or sensitive issues with Medicare and Medicaid members.
Participates in enterprise-wide projects.
Acts as key department contact with medical policy, medical review, billing, and reimbursement issues.
Assists the manager in compilation of departmental reports to meet both internal and CMS requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 7 years of Medicare Contract experience including experience in managed care public relations, communications or marketing and 5 years of instructional design theory and/or adult learning; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project management and process improvement experience preferred. Some travel may be required.
