What is an Associate Solution Design Specialist?
This role is part of our SD&S (Solution Design and Services) team. The SD&S team builds end-to-end solutions to help our resellers (customers) win their sales deals. We do this by answering customer calls and/or emails on assigned product categories or lines within defined service levels.
*We have open positions that require knowledge within two distinct segment differences:
Hardware Components: the physical parts of a computer, such as a case, central processing unit, monitor, mouse, keyboard, computer data storage, graphics card, sound card, speakers, and motherboard.
Networking: Support both internal associates and external customers (resellers and their end-users) with pre-sales network design-oriented solutions. That could mean building out a new data center, refreshing a school’s wireless network, or finding the right firewall solution to secure a business!
Qualifications:
You must be technically savvy
Excellent communication skills
Technical aptitude
Hands-on Customer Support experience
Knowledge of hardware/ PC's, server, storage components
OR Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls/security solutions, wireless access points, data center networking, servers, and/or network management solutions.
High school education required
Technical certifications and /or AAS degree in computer-related studies
One year (minimum) related experience in the following:
Network technician
Technical Sales
Customer service
Skills in:
Keyboarding, MS Office Suite (Word & Excel), basic sales skills, time management; good communication skills (written & verbal) excellent listening skills
Ability to:
Learn complex proprietary systems; to work as a team member or independently, to relay/share information accurately
Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
Be located near one of our campuses; Williamsville, NY; Scottsdale, AZ; Greer, SC.
CCNA / CMNA / Blackbelt Stage I /II, or other Cisco certifications preferred but not required.
Your Typical Day:
Answering customer requests on assigned lines (product categories) within defined service levels.
Providing excellent customer service while architecting complete solutions and/or network designs for Ingram Micro’s customers
Developing product knowledge and selling skills for creating accurate, detailed solutions while offering options, accessories, and services to accompany the opportunity.
Demonstrating the importance of getting the sale related to the value created
Demonstrating time management skills
May act as a vendor Advocate or Point of Contact for specific vendors i.e. Cisco
