We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Payroll Tax Director!
Responsibilities
We are looking for a Director of Tax, who is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, tax payments and notice resolution for over 25,000 employees with multi-state environment with a complex tax structure. - Responsible for leading the effort to implement strong communications and a process to identify opportunities for automation of files to payroll tax vendors. Manage vendor costs, partnership, relationships and projects to automate 1099, W-2s and pay slips. - Responsible for analyzing data within the tax team to identify trends and issues - Responsible for leading monthly tax updates to senior managers to ensure audit, compliance and filing are completed timely. Must facilitate collaboration across teams and solution problems. - Responsible for measuring the success of process improvements using KPIs - Must work closely with end users and customer service team.
Tax Team is responsible for all payroll taxes for all entities within Envision to provide support, and filing accuracy and streamline process. This role will create a team dedicated Payroll to this initiative and accomplish the following goals:
Implementation of process improvements
Improved communication
Automated solutions for self service
Track, trend and address upstream issues
Create strong service levels to increase partnership with Clinicians/ Vendors and employees
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee administration of tax within payroll and Envision
Optimize data integration between all systems to provide consistent service, output, and response time.
Create a governance between key stakeholders’ group to facilitate prompt issue resolution and address issues resulting from tax issues and errors.
Support the collection and tax reporting associated with identified overpayment and identify trends to develop procedures and processes to reduce reoccurrences.
Coach, lead staff and develop the tax support team
Develop communication system to provide all stakeholders with project/initiative/system-level updates
Implementation of tax solutions for end users W-2, 1099 pay slip project to encourage app usage.
Automate business processes to provide consistency in output and reporting
Work with various functional leaders and stakeholders, understand current business priorities and identify cost effective, innovative solutions. Assure realistic timelines for deliverables are established and met.
Maximize the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement and change initiatives
Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, procedures and tax filing of all entities.
Partner effectively with HR, IT, Finance, and other functions to ensure appropriate flow of data and reporting.
Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices.
Manage outsourced vendors to ensure compliance with processes, requirements and laws and service expectations regionally.
Oversees year-end processing for Envision Healthcare and affiliated companies and ensures employees receive all required forms on and accurately.
Facilitates internal and external audit requests for payroll related data.
Qualifications
Hands-on leadership experience in implementing/re-implementing and supporting new processes, systems, and staff.
Ability to work in a fast past environment
Experienced in change management
Previous leadership experience
Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
Flexible and adaptable regarding learning and understanding new technologies
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Finance/Accounting, or a related field
Significant payroll/tax experience with demonstrated increased responsibility
8 or more years of manager experience with large complex remote teams
Healthcare industry experience preferred
Experience with change management, communications, processes, and implementation
Certified Payroll Professional CPP preferred
