The target location for this role is Land O’Lakes Corporate Headquarters in Arden Hills, MN, however this position can be remote (virtual) and located anywhere in the USA
Brand Marketing
The Brand Marketing role at Land O’ Lakes is responsible for driving magnetic connections between our consumers, customers and our brands. Brand Marketing is part of the Corporate Marketing and Communications team and supports the business teams by acting as a true business partner providing marketing communications expertise and driving collaboration across multiple teams.
Role Description
The Brand Marketing Specialist partners with marketers in one of our Business Unit marketing teams, delivering engagement planning support and leads the execution of advertising and other integrated communication programs to achieve performance and sales objectives, and help meet compliance of communication objectives, timelines, and adherence to brand standards. They will support the Brand Marketing Manager in providing input for strategic decisions and lead project execution of key initiatives.
Additionally, this position provides key inputs towards managing the communications budget and using the appropriate LOL systems and processes for efficient project management. The ideal candidate has a passion for building brands, collaborates across groups and has a strong ability to adapt and remain detail orientated in an ever-changing world and business environment.
Accountabilities
In partnership with BU, Marketing COEs, Communications and Brand Marketing, this person plays a critical role in the execution of the following activities:
Partner with Brand Marketing managers to build channel specific engagement plans that will maximize investment and drive business growth. Continually look for ideas to enhance our support as new learnings or programs present themselves.
Execute marketing programs with appropriate internal and external partners, to deliver against brand and communication plan and strategy.
Proactively work with our cross functional teams to understand the return on our marketing communications investments and make recommendations to revise plans as needed. Communication campaigns include but are not limited to the following: advertising (digital, TV, print, social, point-of-sale, etc.), promotions, influencer management, PR, events, website, 1-1 programs, sales/channel collateral, etc.
Participate in the development of the communications strategy and big ideas, in collaboration with the agency(s) and internal COEs that will drive business growth. Proactively work with our cross-functional teams to ensure we are offering integrated support and ensuring we remain accountable as a team.
Assist in maintaining communication budgets, and the review/approval of financial commitments, using LOL systems as appropriate. (i.e., Ariba, Allocadia, others).
Truterra / WinField United Specialist
Support annual planning activities for Truterra as needed.
Provide key inputs to and updates to Brand Marketing Manager for monthly business reviews
Ongoing engagement with Truterra Digital Marketing Manager and Content Specialist to ensure we are integrating campaign content on websites (truterraag.com)
Coordinate the curation and deployment of key communication vehicles
Active participation in pertinent re-occurring meetings (status’, financial reviews, agile input sessions, planning, etc.)
Direct management of select communication programs
Required (Basic) Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications related field
5+ years marketing campaign management experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications
Preferred Experience & Education:
Experience in translating marketing objectives and strategies into engaging creative ideas
Proficient at writing for internal and external audiences and to assess copywritten content for brand tone, fit
Required Competencies & Other Skills:
Excellent analytical and proactive problem-solving skills
Strong initiative skills—proven ability to work independently and is a self-starter
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with an ability to engage with members of other teams
