Key Job Responsibilities:

The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of systems and software quality as the leader of Systems and Software Quality Assurance in the Sikorsky Aircraft line of business (LOB) and has functional responsibility for the Systems and Software Quality Assurance team providing the Engineering Quality Assurance Program for systems development that involves software or complex electronic hardware.

This position will report to the Director of Quality for the Sikorsky Aircraft LOB.

The Quality Manager provides overarching management to ensure that Program and Functional teams are provided with objective insight into Sikorsky and Suppliers’ system and software processes and associated work products, and that customer and regulatory authority system and software quality requirements are met. The Quality Manager oversees the evaluation of work products and processes according to applicable established standards.

The Quality Manager provides management and process groups with visibility into the quality of a project's system and software products and process performance, and ensure that non-compliances/discrepancies are tracked and resolved.

Manages those who develop, modify and apply quality principles to the development of software and software-based systems for make and/or buy software products.

Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process, and contract requirements and objectives.

Defines audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems/software processes.

Evaluates and analyzes software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards.

Manages those who perform verification and validation of test equipment including hardware in the loop systems.

Manages those who perform software product reviews against contractual, technical, and/or process requirements.
Reviews include requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Also manages those who perform verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

Ensures Systems and Software Quality Engineering support to Quality Program Teams (QPT) according to the program requirements.

The candidate will also provide leadership through identification and implementation of process improvement efforts, as well as cross-functional collaboration, in the corresponding RMS Quality initiatives including, but not limited to: Root Cause Analysis, Digital Transformation, Engineering Quality including Systems, Software, and Hardware Quality Engineering, Data Analytics, and Design & Development. This role is also accountable for establishing, performing and managing annual budgets, headcount, DCI%, capital requests, Quality metrics, employee growth and development, and employee performance and training requirements. An excellent grasp of command media is necessary.

Scope:

Employee Population: This position is directly responsible for leadership to the Systems and Software Quality organization of an established team (currently 11 associates).

Primary Customers/External Interaction: Key interface and establishment of effective relationships with all corresponding Customer Oversight Agencies (i.e. DCMA, MDA, DoD Customer, etc.), Program VPs, and Directors.

Key Cross-LOB or Functional Partnerships/Touchpoints: Engineering & Technology, Production Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts, and RMS Quality leadership.

Ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to complete assignments would normally result in serious delays to assigned projects resulting in considerable expenditure of additional time, human resources, and funds.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong communication skills including the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership on strategic and tactical issues affecting the quality of products and services.

Experienced leader with a minimum of 10 years in various Quality, Operations, Engineering, and/or Program Management positions with increasing responsibility.

Extensive knowledge of DOD contract requirements and Program Quality Management.

Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions, set priorities and provide succinct direction in a dynamic business environment.

Demonstrated track record of working with multiple customers and forming strong internal and external customer relationships.

Ability to balance teaming and flexibility while maintaining independence and ensuring process adherence.

Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership skills.

Experience building a strong team of direct and matrixed employees.

Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and drive change.

Strong working knowledge of problem solving/root cause analysis and process management.

Ability to drive the foundation for business and program performance.

Desired Skills:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering related discipline

Experienced in implementing and maintaining AS9100-certified Quality Management Systems

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Tools

Engineering Quality Experience

Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model – Integrated (CMMI) is considered a plus.
