We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Ultrasound Technician at one of our Irving Las Colinas Medical Center.

The Ultrasound Technician operates ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic sonograms, invasive procedure guidance as directed by Perinatologist. Performs perinatal ultrasound procedures in accordance with established standards and practices.

Responsibilities

Perform obstetrical ultrasounds (1st Trimester, anatomy, multiple gestations, biophysical profiles, limited ultrasounds, follow up ultrasounds, complete and detailed, abdominal and/or vaginal approaches as necessary).
Perform fetal vessel Doppler velocimetry.
Dip urine specimens for protein, assist with or provide sonoguidance for amniocentesis.
Prepare amniotic fluid specimens for shipping.
Keep logs of results books and contact patients with normal amniocentesis results.
Create a preliminary sonogram report in a computer database (currently R4).
Clean equipment according to OSHA standards.
Stock rooms with supplies.
Order medical supplies.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
Other duties as assigned
Reads and abides by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs
Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company
Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so
Support and abide by the values of the company

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Proficient knowledge of working with high risk obstetrical patients
Proven proficiency in performing high risk obstetrical sonograms and amniocentesis
Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required
ARDMS certified (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) preferred
NTQR certified preferred
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar clinical position

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

Microsoft Office

Certificates and Licenses (if applicable)

ARDMS certified (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) preferred
NTQR certified preferred
