The Vice President Controller & Principle Accounting Officer leads the accounting, tax, payroll, accounts payable and credit card teams. The Vice President is responsible for the financial reporting process, development of financial controls, system implementations, technical accounting research, tax filings, payroll and budget-related work. The Controller works directly with the outside accounting firm, Board of Directors and Audit committee.
The Vice President Controller Accounting Principle & Accounting Officer is a key member of the JetBlue leadership team that is dedicated to leading the Accounting teams in support of Corporate strategy. Essential Responsibilities
Design and lead the strategy of the Controller Accounting, Tax, Payroll, Accounts payable and credit card teams
Lead oversight, preparation and submission of financial statements to ensure adherence to accounting principles and accurate results
Lead cross-departmental projects and initiatives
Communicate and present financial results and recommendations to executive leaders
Lead discussions and relationship with our external Auditor and internal BOD Audit Committee
Collaborate with other business areas in improving communication and teamwork to drive understanding of financial terms and business of the business
Proactively analyze US GAAP and other accounting standard evolution and the impact on our organization going forward
Provide oversight for the payroll, tax and credit card fraud processes
Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement, and development of the succession plan for the department

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree; Masters in Business Administration preferred
Ten (10) years accounting experience
Seven (7) years leadership experience
Certification as a Public Accountant (CPA)
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Public Accounting experience preferred
Ability to research technical accounting and write position papers
Experience communicating to executive and Board level leadership preferred
Knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulation
Available for moderate overnight travel (25%)
Able to work flexible hours and be available for an emergency response on short notice
Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
