Role Overview:

The HyCO Operations Engineering Support team (OES) has an opening for a Water Program Manager to support our HyCO production facilities in the US (nationally). The HyCO OES team is responsible for providing strategic engineering support in the areas of water management, catalyst management and process engineering for production facilities throughout the US.  The successful candidate will be located primarily in the Houston, TX area and report to the HyCO OES Manager.

This role will be responsible for managing the HyCO water program for all plants across the US fleet. The main areas of responsibility include: (1) Monitoring HyCO plant boiler and cooling tower KPIs; (2) Water treatment program selection and optimization; (3) Identification of water productivity opportunities; (4) Design and implementation of small improvement projects (<$2 MM Capex); (5) Contract management of chemical treatment suppliers and outsourced water production plants.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the HyCO OES Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utilize water process knowledge, data analysis tools and modeling skills to identify performance improvement opportunities and troubleshoot problems in operating HyCO plants
Identify and justify improvement projects, implement projects, and validate project savings
Boiler and cooling water KPI monitoring, and correcting performance shortfalls to maintain mechanical integrity of fixed assets
Coordinate and participate in routine supplier meetings to manage supplier contract(s), ensure system performance, identify saving opportunities, and improve system reliability
Support new project opportunities including steam quality requirements, steam system design, incoming and make-up water quality, proposed treatment programs and controls / automation
Lead Management of Change for supplier transitions, treatment program changes, and new or updated treatment automation

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: BS or higher in Chemical Engineering

PROFESSIONAL:

Knowledge of HyCO specific water treatment program requirements and common corrosion/failure mechanism specific to hydrogen plant operations
Knowledge of water purification plants / unit operations, waste heat boiler recovery systems, and direct fired boilers.
Must have at least 3 years of experience in process engineer function in operations or engineering in the industrial gas, chemicals, refining/petrochemical and/or steam generation industries
Ability to monitor and correct plant performance based on data / statistical analysis and process modeling
Demonstrated ability (or at least working experience) with operation of H2 SMR plant or HyCO plant.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills able to work as individual contributor as well as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to lead or participate in root cause analysis / incident methodology
HyCO process or water modeling using Unisim and/or Promax is a plus
Ability to effectively communicate across multiple departments within Linde Plc. such as operations, engineering, business development and R&D

Domestic travel is required (< 50%)
