Requisition Summary
Optimizes and executes transportation plan for all supplier inbound activity destined for PACCAR plants across North America. The Logistics Planner monitors the performance of the transportation plans in order to ensure accuracy. This person manages inbound freight from a group of suppliers in an effort to maintain base data accuracy within Manugistics, and SAP Networks. The Logistics Planner also configures and optimizes transportation planning exceptions in the system as well as exceptions identified at the plant and suppliers. Candidate will work closely with Material personnel and Plant Traffic personnel in order to ensure that consistent and reliable plant delivery schedules are maintained.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Routes inbound freight for his / her suppliers within an assigned geographic region.
Monitors plan accuracy in an effort to identify configuration issues.
Manages and trains suppliers on new portal to ensure freight units are confirmed timely for planning.
Enhances planning workflow by analyzing & developing effective routing procedures.
Monitors supplier compliance to system expectations and coordinates corrective actions as required.
Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the supplier base in effort to maintain supplier base data accuracy.
Leads process improvement activities.
Trains suppliers on the functions within the PACCAR Transportation System interface to promote and monitor supplier compliance.
Involves various levels of management to strengthen supplier compliance through effective communication and follow-through.
Establishes and maintains a strong collaborative working relationship with Plant Traffic and Material personnel in order to provide accurate transportation plans.
Serves as a plant initial point of contact for transportation plan updates and exception management.
Identifies cost saving opportunities within the supply chain network and contributes to overall Logistics Saving goals.
Qualifications & Skills
3 to 5 years of Transportation or Materials experience
Strong industry knowledge of transportation best practices
Familiar with SAP
Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a changing environment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Superior analytical and problem solving skills
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
Quality and results-driven work ethic
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint

Bachelors Degree required
