Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing various kinds of rotating equipment, which includes centrifugal, axial, and reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, diaphragm and positive displacement pumps, chemical injection pumps, and their associated turbine and motor drives. Work responsibilities require the ability to utilize various precision measurement devices, and to interpret equipment drawings and schematics. The Pump Mechanic completes routine paperwork and data report forms regarding rotating equipment condition, repairs, and measurements, as well as abiding to the work permit system and refinery safety standards. A Pump Mechanic is also responsible for maintaining mobile equipment training for various types of mobile equipment such as: Man Lift, 25 Ton Carry Deck Crane, Telehandler, and Forklift. Personnel with experience in operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines is preferred. The successful candidate must pass both a written test and a hands-on skill demonstration test.
