Data Analyst, Global Government Engagement

Job Description

The Global Government Engagement (GGE) team works to advance Visa’s public policy and commercial objectives while mitigating legislative and regulatory risk that could adversely affect the business. Additionally, we work with many teams across the company to advance business priorities, including new payments flows that expand the Visa network, promote the growth of electronic payments while building strong relationships with governments and stakeholders across the world.  

The Global Government Engagement Team is seeking a Data Analyst, reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Business Operations. The Analyst will play a strategic role across the GGE function, helping to build and define the global reporting and analytics needs for the function. This role requires the ability to work cross-functionally with the business and act as a liaison between the other internal functions across the world including Legal, Government Solutions and Strategy as well as external partners. This role will manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and must demonstrate a flexible mindset and positive attitude and ‘can-do’ approach to the work.

Responsibilities

Build reporting dashboards for executive management.
Support reporting programs and process enhancements.
Run SQL scripts to extract data from multiple, internal and external data sources.
Leverage data to tell stories.
Work cross-functionally with Global Visa data teams, including but not limited to: Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA), Visa Economists, and Data for Good, etc.
Collect data and update Global GE scorecard Quarterly.  
Support regional GE teams with regional dashboards and metrics.
Adjust global metrics to meet regional GE team needs.
Support external third-party partnerships and think tanks and act as a global point-of-contact for partnerships to regional teams.
Partner with Learning and Development to use data to tell a story.
Help run global compliance programs.
Provide project management support for special projects and global resource support for regional teams, as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience
• Tableau and/or Microsoft BI experience. SQL knowledge
• Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to analyze structured and unstructured datasets and synthesize information to actionable insights.
• Be an independent thinker with a great eye for detail that has an innovative approach and a deep appreciation of user needs.
• Self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Strong business analysis skills, verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable with handling multiple projects and sensitive information.
• Results driven with a focus on quality execution and outcomes.
• Ability to work-cross functionally with a broad range of internal and external partners. Manage multiple assignments concurrently, efficiently generating high-quality deliverables.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM experience

This role may work out of San Francisco, New York City, Washington D.C. Miami, Toronto, London, or Brussels.

Flex Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both home and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office three days a week, Monday (Sunday in some countries where Sunday is the start of the week) and Wednesdays. Wednesdays are designated as in-office collaboration days. The third day in the office will be decided based on team needs and determined in partnership with senior leadership.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
