Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
The Senior Manager, IT will be reporting to the Director, Sling IT department. The Senior Manager, IT will be responsible for day to day operations of technology including custom development, testing, release management, and help desk management. This position will work closely with the Director, Sling IT on strategic positioning of technology and ensuring technology meets the needs of the Sling and it’s customers.
Leading a team of IT managers and development teams that support Sling’s ecommerce and account management capabilities
Driving development and execution from conceptualization through production deployment by creating actionable plans, work streams and tactics, and following through to ensure delivery
Ensure the compliance with standard IT policies regarding operational procedures and practices
Work with outside vendors, upper management, and leadership of other departments to ensure smooth processes and satisfaction of delivery
Establish strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning and resiliency of systems
Perform the duty of key interface working with the product teams and operational partners to drive the creation and execution of the product roadmap
Work cross-functionally with teams across the value chain
Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the ability to meet development goals and timelines.
A Strong sense of ownership and a willingness to lean in to drive winning outcomes in any situation
Leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and comfort in making the call in ambiguous scenarios
A successful Senior IT Manager will have the following:
Experience working with Cloud Native technologies (AWS preferred) driving sophisticated, resilient systems that operate at scale.
Demonstrated experience delivering quality technology products/services in a high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly
Experience excelling in a cross-functional environment with competing priorities
Possess solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills with both technical and business acumen
Experience managing to a constantly evolving product roadmap, utilizing and defining systems and processes to support the strategic initiatives
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and drive multiple projects to success
Talented people manager, adept at communicating vision, leading through change, and developing team members
Ability to prioritize effectively, communicate clearly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team
Demonstrated experience working in an environment where agile SCRUM processes are used to deliver various types of development products
Work well with both IT technical, as well as, business functional resources
