Job Description
This role is responsible for the day-to-day administrative functions Employee Support within the HR Operations department. It is expected that this position will maintain an in-depth and current understanding of human resource systems and their relationship to each other, to provide excellent employee support. This position is also responsible for company-wide projects and administrative tasks.
Essential Responsibilities
Initial HR point of contact for employees for general questions and support, including when inquires submitted to team require research and/or a conversation. Explain HR procedures and standards. Redirects employees to appropriate resources for specialized support, including payroll, policy interpretation, benefits, compensation, counseling on performance management, employee engagement and rewards, and IT. Escalates issues as needed.
Works with appropriate team members on resolution when discrepancies are found in data entry, payroll or documentation
Investigates and resolves employee payroll issues; interfaces with HR field partners and employees to explain pay calculations
Works with the various groups to assist in the resolution of complex problems
Consolidate and provide employee information to the Legal department for all subpoenas
Acts as a liaison between Human Resource and IT group, participating in testing and providing testing results to appropriate resources
Investigates overpayments and works with field HR partner to communicate and recoup overpayment in accordance with policy and legal requirements
Fosters a positive employee experience by providing accurate, timely customer support services. Approaches work and interactions with a high attention to detail and empathy. Assists, troubleshoots, partners with others, and escalates issues.
Prepares employment verification letters.
Interfaces with processing team to provide appropriate paperwork and documentation for all employee transactions including but not limited to salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
In partnership with the processing team, ensures HR recordkeeping is compliant and updates made timely. As needed, assists with data/recordkeeping audits and obtaining details from HR partners, managers and/or employees as needed.
Partners with HR partners to coordinate submission of proper documents requested during SOX or other internal or external audits.
Reviews work practices and recommends ways to simplify and streamline processes.
Drafts process flow documents to map/define roles and responsibilities, ensure standardization of HR support services, optimize efficiency, and train new team members.
Assists with general reporting and other projects as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or experience in related area is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing effective HR guidance in the areas of performance/people management and resolution of complex/sensitive interpersonal conflicts.
Other Qualifications:
PHR/SPHR designation preferred.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with all levels in the organization.
Ability to manage, protect and maintain confidential information.
Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws.
Strong attention to detail required.
Must be able to multitask and change courses quickly without compromising accuracy.
Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to problem solve.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
