The Role at a Glance

We are looking to add an Associate Director to the Commercial Mortgage and Real Estate Investments team.  

In this position, you will provide experienced support as part of the Loan Production team in the annual origination of $ 16 billion in commercial mortgage investments. The ideal candidate is looking to grow his/her responsibilities in both credit analysis and new business development. 

What you'll be doing:

Review and underwrite new commercial real estate loan investment opportunities providing analysis and recommendations to senior production officers.
Prepare draft investment committee write ups working independently and collaboratively with commercial mortgage team, correspondent mortgage bankers, analysts and other relevant resources, such as appraisers or other sources of commercial real estate data.
Draft term sheets, application/commitment letters, and other transaction related documents for review by the senior production officer.
Support senior production officers in the management of correspondent relationships and new transactions for assigned territory; actively manages and develops assigned correspondent mortgage banker relationships with limited oversight from senior production officer. Manage transactions from origination through closing.
Originate new mortgage loans within Lincoln investment guidelines with limited assistance from senior production officer.
Work with senior production officers and legal counsel to negotiate transaction structures.
Complete due diligence analysis including review of leases, rent rolls, third party reports, estoppels, and other business-related matters.
Serve as business liaison throughout the loan closing process working collaboratively with appropriate internal/external stakeholders to effectuate a timely closing.
Acts as a resource in the training and mentoring of junior team members. Travels independently on due diligence and business development trips.
Additional investment support may include commercial real estate partnerships, and wholly owned real estate (OREO and REO).
Review annual operating statements and annual site inspection reports for existing properties within the portfolio.
Monitor the commercial mortgage loan portfolio for early detection and reporting of problem assets.
Handles special servicing requests as requested.

What we're looking for:

Must- have experience: 

4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) - Minimum Required
3-5+ Years’ experience required in commercial real estate finance and/or commercial real estate investment and analysis that aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
Experience analyzing asset lending transactions.
Knowledge of commercial real estate principles and fundamentals.
Knowledge of national commercial real estate and mortgage markets and macro-economic trends that affect those markets.
Ability to understand and evaluate real estate financial statements. Knowledge and understanding of commercial real estate valuation.
Knowledge of real estate legal concepts and understanding of loan documents.
Ability to understand and apply financial concepts such as but not limited to Future Value, Present Value, Compound Interest, Discounting, Capitalization Rates, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR).

Work Arrangement

Hybrid/Office : Employees will work in a Lincoln office generally three days each week and work from home the remainder of the days, following any applicable in-office training period determined by their manager.
