The Battery PPO Group Leader functions as a technical expert for all commodities across all programs they are responsible for. The individual also works with a cross functional team of product engineers, global supply chain, scheduling and UAW represented builders. The Group Lead is responsible for maintaining the appropriate throughput on the build floor that the schedule dictates. Work is of a very broad nature across the Group Lead role and requires a highly motivated, self-directed individual who is comfortable with ambiguity and displays both technical skills, and the ability to lead and influence peers and process.

Group Leader in Brownstown Battery Plant, responsible for working with the Brownstown Test Battery Operations (TBO) Team and the PPO Global Propulsion Systems (GPS) Program Managers on prioritizing what RESSs need to get built for Vehicle PPO and RESS (Rechargeable Energy Storage Systems) Engineering Teams. You will be relied upon for your experience and discernment to plan and accomplish goals. You will lead and direct the work of others. You will be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgement to plan, execute and accomplish goals. Supports external organizations to develop and achieve goals through build plan deployment (BPD). Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Models GM behaviors and crafts a winning culture.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Supervise a small to medium group of skilled represented builders.
Sound technical knowledge and expertise related to the functional area of responsibility.
Conduct regularly scheduled group meetings, communicate GM Policies & Procedures, Leadership and Safety Messages.
Assign and lead workload for direct reports; set individual employee and group priorities.
Observe and act to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues impacting the build floor.
Act as build floor representative to escalate engineering, design and build technical issues.
Attend/ participate in build scheduling meetings.
Develop/ maintain end of shift report.
Support Build Plan Deployment (BPD) activities for the site.
Maintain timekeeping system for accuracy.
Qualifications :
Knowledge of pre-production processes.
Knowledge of High Voltage Battery Manufacturing and Test.
High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output.
High level of oral and written communications skills.
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
