A successful candidate will be a person who loves accounting and the deep dive into small discrepancies. Enjoys finding the entry that delays close and researches how to fix the issue intuitively. Thinks analytically about how to improve processes such as expenditure trends and execute the routine banking activities or letters of credit, etc.

In this role you will apply your keen financial knowledge to analyze, prep and post entries in the general ledger. Each month apply focus on the timely execution of close cycles and review processes taking special care to detect, research and resolve reconciliation issues. Additionally, each week you will have the opportunity to support the business and gain additional experience through various related tasks.

The Responsibilities:

Compile financial information and prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts; document business transactions; and reconcile and close Company accounts monthly.
Perform general ledger duties to assist with monthly activity and closings.
Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to general ledger balances.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for specified accounts and may analyze daily bank account activity.
Analyze and document variances in account balances between periods.
Prepare various schedules required for internal and external reporting, both on a GAAP basis and as required by Statutory Accounting Principles.
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual filings.
Assist with special projects as needed.

Needed Skills and Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or related field
2 or more years of progressive work experience
Understanding of GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
