Operate machine tools following moderately complex specifications.
Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.
Monitor and control the machine operations.
Control and adjust the quality of the output in line with blueprints and specifications.
Can teach more junior machinists.
Detect problems and alert.
Modify and write semi-standard programs in response to problems.
Understand and follow all safety requirements and procedures.
Operates moderately complex machining tasks autonomously.
Refers to supervision for highly complex tasks and activities
You are meant for this job if
Professional education and/or apprenticeship with confirmed mechanical skills.
Good professional practice: more than 5 years of experience.
Basic English is written and communication skills are required.
Exposure to manufacturing or welding environment preferred.
Must have the ability to use measuring equipment such as a tape measure and protractor.
Must be able to operate material handling equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Must have the ability to comprehend detailed internal documents such as machining and fabrication engineering drawings, bills of material and work orders, quality and safety documents.
Must be able to understand written descriptions on work orders and be able to perform basic math problems.
