Responsibilities
1st shift
Key Accountabilities:
Apply knowledge of structural analysis (e.g., materials technology, finite element modeling, static analysis, fatigue analysis, damage tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, vibration analysis, structural testing, etc.) to determine structural adequacy for customer requirements and regulatory compliance; and to collaborate on structural design, manufacturing, and post-delivery of products. Candidates are expected to perform as a lead or highly technical individual contributors within a team environment.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
• Working knowledge of aerospace industry practices and standards
• Advanced thinking and problem-solving ability
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be willing and able to mentor other engineers
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Must be familiar with classical structural analysis techniques, using free body diagrams and internal loads model data
• Candidate must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Wichita, KS area
• Requires educational credentials meeting the Spirit classification standards for engineers and typically 10+ years' experience in a stress or structural analysis engineering classification / position
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering or other related course of study obtained from an ABET accredited program
Preferred Qualifications:
• Detailed FEA, having both metallic and composite analysis methods, familiarity with CATIA V5 or V6 tools, and fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
• Lead engineering experience is preferred.
