Our Impact:

The Underwriting Business Technology Office (UW BTO) supports the Single Family business, creating and implementing solutions to a variety of technology challenges. This support takes many forms, including deploying emerging technologies, and maintaining critical underwriting applications.

Your Impact:

The Agile Coaching Senior has three overall goals in addition to removing team impediments and facilitating Agile practices:
Works with Scrum Team to ensure scrum standard methodologies are followed from the initiation through delivery
Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
Facilitates the management of the product backlog and coordinates with other Scrum Masters to identify and manage cross-team dependencies
Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
Closely tracks and monitors the scrum team’s results and reports metrics at the iteration and project levels
Mentoring and coaching Scrum team to instill agile values and principles and lead by example
Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
Facilitating productivity by mediating through conflicts, helping team to make decisions, and adhering to continuous improvement principles
Keeping Scrum process on track and passing it to the team as self-organization matures
Helping team adhere to the best engineering practices and makes sure everybody understands technical debt concept
Using data to measuring & monitoring progress
Ensure agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, should be able to be a voice of reason and authority
Has agile attitude, understands what’s behind agile values and principles
Understands Scrum framework very well and understands values that each artifact/role/event brings
Understanding of modern software development & engineering practices: continuous integration, continuous delivery, Lean methodologies
Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
Assist team with release management activities

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science or IT related subject area, SAFe Scrum Certification, Past IT Project Management experience is a plus.
4+ years of relevant experience as a Scrum Coach
Must have solid understanding of the software development process and have a consistent track record
Scrum Master for multiple teams delivering sophisticated technical projects
Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
Experience with successful Agile techniques
Good communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction
Experience creating release plans using agile standard methodologies. (SAFe experience is a plus)
Ability to coach and provide direction to team in the initial stages of adopting scrum methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience using Agile Tools to lead backlog and track iterations, experience with Jira is required
JIRA Administration Expertise experience in JIRA, V1, Rally and similar tools
