Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES:

The Warehouse Process Technician, under the basic supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, is responsible for basic areas workflow coordination.
Must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of "Material Handler" as follows:
Understands and views production schedules, shipping work bench, in-house variety operations or 3rd party requirements to assigns activities to be meet customer expectations.
Everything is directed, so this is not required in today's WMS directed world.
Partial picking or pallet picking orders on pallets slip sheets, or floor loading of trailers.
Label pallets and / or provide customer specific shipping requirements before loading to trailer.
Opens bales, crates, and other containers as necessary.
Complies with company policies for received goods.
Weighs or counts materials management items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
Capable of enter transactions into telnet, Oracle or personal computers.
Ability to safely operate a variety of power industrial vehicles.
Ability to arrange multiple ship methods (LTL, parcel, etc.).
Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.  Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.
Prepares and takes a physical inventory of all merchandise; records counts on inventory sheets. Capable of utilizing the Oracle WMS cycle counting program if rolled out at the facility.
In conjunction with the Warehouse leaders assigns job duties (receiving, storage, picking, loading, serving, and manufacturing) to warehouse crew, coordinates rotation and/or relief of specific positions, may also relieve specific positions as needed.
In conjunction with the Warehouse leaders, monitors work flow of warehouse crew personnel throughout the shift.  Assigns and reassigns jobs as necessary.
Assigns task, releases orders, releases replenishments, picks confirm orders and dispatches orders using Oracle WMS system.
Follows company protocol for dispatching orders to drivers.
Receives materials in the Purchase Order system.
Starts up, reboots, and trouble shoots minor issues with scanner system.
Works across departments to resolve issues.
Trains new employees in Warehousing/Receiving practices.
Maintains warehouse business during leader's absence.
Follows Leader Standard Work activities.
Adheres to and is a leader in all regulatory issues (OSHA, FDA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection; keeps work area clean; stores supplies in designated areas; keeps work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions; removes trash from work area floor; follows instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identifies/reports defective equipment; reports all job-related injuries to supervision.
May be required to cover vacations for other leaders, etc.
May perform other duties as required.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 
High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
