Maintenance Positions

Performing a broad range of electric and mechanical maintenance work on the various pieces of equipment in the facility; responding promptly and effectively to calls for assistance to ensure that machine uptime is maximized and that downtime is minimized; and performing other maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or the on-duty Production Supervisor.

Maintenance Mechanic B

High school diploma or GED certificate
1–2 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience or the equivalent level of experience from training or education
Good troubleshooting skills
Effective communications skills
Demonstrated ability and background in a solid basic understanding of plumbing, hydraulics, and electricity
Ability to perform entry-level welding and repairs
Ability to read pneumatic and hydraulic prints
Tenneco fork lift license (can be earned after entering the job)
Crane and hoist training (preferred but not required to be qualified)
Effective performance of preventative maintenance tasks

Maintenance Mechanic A

All of those for the Maintenance Mechanic B
Minimum of 3 years on-the-job experience (some classroom work may be considered as supplemental)
Some education industrial classes preferred
Proficient in arc, MIG, TIG, and gas welding
Ability to fabricate/fix/finish to completion
Basic electrical experience/ability above the Mechanic B skill level
Ability to read advanced pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical prints
Effective performance of preventative maintenance tasks

Electrician/Mechanic 

All of those for the Maintenance Mechanic A
5–7 years of hands–on industrial maintenance/electrical experience
Thorough understanding of PLCs, 3-phase 480-volt system, ladder logic, control circuits, and low-voltage power supplies
Ability to read, understand, and utilize electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
Arc Flash training
Ability to install equipment, including all ancillary work
Basic understanding of robotics
Effective performance of preventative maintenance tasks

Electrician/Technician

All of those for the Electrician/Mechanic
Demonstrated experience and expertise in robotics, PLCs, Reps and other equipment unique to Tenneco – Angola
7-10 years hands of industrial maintenance/electrical experience or 5-7 years of such experience with a journeyman’s card in at least one Maintenance discipline preferred
Recognition as the “go-to” expert within our walls for a specific area or type of equipment
Ability to mentor, train, and coach other Maintenance personnel in practically every facet of Maintenance
